Set deep in the verdant folds of the Western Ghats, the Kodachadri Trek is an experience where adventure meets spirituality. Over the course of 2 days and 2 nights, this trek takes you through dense forests, hidden waterfalls, ancient temples, and majestic forts — blending the thrill of trekking with the grace of Malenadu’s cultural charm.
Starting with an overnight journey from Bengaluru, your weekend begins with a refreshing trek via the roaring Hidlumane Waterfalls, before ascending to the misty Kodachadri Peak. Along the way, bask in scenic views, packed lunches with panoramic backdrops, and an exhilarating jeep ride through rugged terrain. The day winds down with a cozy campfire, hearty local meals, and stories under the stars.
Day 2 offers a cultural twist, with visits to historical sites like Kavaledurga and Nagara Forts, and a serene sunset at Kavishaila — the poetic birthplace of Sri Kuvempu, a Jnanpith awardee.
A trek for the body, culture for the soul — this weekend reset is perfect for explorers, heritage lovers, and peace-seekers alike.

KODACHADRI – TREK DAY
(10KM in total , Moderate 6 hrs Approx)
- Reach Homestay and settle and fresh-up with packed backpack – 6:00am-6:30am
- Have breakfast and pack your lunch boxes for the trek – 7:30am
- Depart from homestay with packed lunch and bag – 8:30am
- Reach Hidlumane waterfalls and take group photo - 10:00am
- Start the trek by 10:30am
- Reach peak and have the lunch with a view - 1:30pm
- Post lunch trek back to the jeep point - 2:30pm
- Have an adventure jeep ride towards base - 3:30pm
- Proceed to the homestay and reach by - 6:00pm
- Have snacks and tea/coffee
- End the day with dinner and campfire - 9:00pm

SIGHTSEEING DAY - SHIMMOGGA
(Forts and Heritage sites)
- Wakeup early and get ready for an exciting Day-2
- Have local cuisine breakfast - 7:00am
- Check-out from the homestay - 8:30am
- Visit the Nagara fort - 9:30am - spend time till 10:00am
- Depart from Nagara fort and reach Kavaledurga fort by 11:00am
- A small trek to visit the peak of the fort - enjoy the view of the fort and spend time till 12:30
- Depart towards Thirthahalli for lunch stop - 1:30pm (self sponsored)
- 01:00pm Proceed towards Belur
- Meals: Breakfast
- Have lunch at Thirthalli - 2:30pm
- Post lunch we will depart towards Kuppalli - the birthplace of Sri KuVemPu - 3:30pm
- Enjoy the Malenadu beauty and heritage home at Kavishaila - the house of
- KuVemPu and await a beautiful sunset - till 6:00pm
- Depart towards Bangalore - 6:30pm
- Have dinner on the way to Bangalore - 9:00pm (self sponsored)
- Reach Bengaluru by 5:00am (approx.)
